Specialty Wound Care




Dr. Scott Zittel grew up on a small farm in Folsom. He attended college at Cornell University in New York. He earned a Doctorate Degree in Osteopathic Medicine through Kansas City University of Medicine and Bioscience. His residency was completed at Michigan State, in Lansing Michigan, where he became board certified in emergency medicine in 1999.  He started practicing emergency medicine in Redding at that time, and began specializing in wound care in 2006. Together with his partner Dr. Andrew Knapp, they established Physicians Wound Center in Redding, specializing in advanced wound care techniques and hyperbaric oxygen therapy.
 
Mayers Memorial Hospital District is proud to have Dr. Zittel on staff as the Medical Director of Outpatient Services.

We apply proven wound care practices and advanced clinical approaches including dressings and antibiotics. Access to hyperbaric oxygen therapy is available through our partnership with Dr. Zittel and the Physicians Wound Center.
